Around the Tri-Cities: MUNCH on Market

As you may know, I am the host of the Goal Getter Podcast with Karissa Winstead. This week on my podcast, I sat down with the co-owners of MUNCH on Market, Audrey Russell and Megan Collins.

The shop is located at 113 West Market Street in downtown Kingsport just across from the parking garage. "Just look for the black and white awning," Russell said. They offer a variety of items including "Blendies" which are similar to smoothies except they do not use artificial sweeteners, they are less than 300 calories, and there aren't any additives or ice in them.

They also offer waffle boats and you can get those gluten free or buttermilk and add two toppings.

The menu at MUNCH on Market changes weekly. All menu items are made daily or fresh to order. On Wednesdays, they offer chicken and dumplings. They make a warm pita and hummus, different sandwich options are rotated each week, and they make soups as well. They also started serving coffee this week.

MUNCH on Market opened its doors October 9, 2019 and said so far, owners said business is going great.

"We do a lot of extra curricular things here. We'll have waffle boat parties with Elsa and Anna (from the Frozen movies), Santa's came out, and we do a lot of things for the kids as well," Collins said.

I asked what some of their goals were for the beginning of the new year. They told me MUNCH on Market is focused on growing its business this year, building customer relationships and partnering with other local small businesses.

"Also, our New Year's resolution was to go green. We have completely went green so far. All of our packaging, all of our cups, our silverware, everything is echo friendly," Collins said. Co-owners also hope to grow their social media presence. You can follow MUNCH on Market on Instagram and Facebook or find their website here.

Soon, you will be able to order online through their website. Until then, you can order ahead of time by messaging them on Facebook.

MUNCH on Market is open Mondays 10:30 am - 2:30 pm, Tuesday - Friday 8 am - 4 pm and 9 am - 3 pm on Saturdays.
